Approaches to Learning
Every child is unique, but all children benefit from dynamic play. Play is important for healthy brain development and allows children to be creative while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. BBI relies on the three HighScope approaches to learning that show how children acquire knowledge and skills:
Initiative & Planning
Children show eagerness to learn by choosing an activity
Problem Solving With Materials
Children learn that their actions can produce results and that they can solve these issues with the tools they have on hand. As they develop, they tackle increasingly complex problems
Reflection
Children are able to remember and analyze past events
Each child shows their eagerness to learn by participating in activities that they find interesting. Our classrooms provide opportunities for children to develop varied interests through age-appropriate activities and toys.
